ROTARY INERTIAL MASS DAMPER
To provide a rotary inertial mass damper which can prevent a control force from instantaneously increasing when long period pulse-like earthquake waves are caused and, at the same time, can interrupt transmission of low amplitude earthquake waves of high frequency.SOLUTION: A rotary inertial mass damper includes: a ball screw 2: a ball screw nut 3; a rotary inertial mass 4; and a rotation transmitting mechanism 5 which is provided between the ball screw nut 3 and the rotary inertial mass 4, transmits rotation of the ball screw nut 3 to the rotary inertial mass 4 and, thereby, rotates the ball screw nut 3 and the rotary inertial mass 4 integrally. Therein, the rotation transmitting mechanism 5 has: a first rotary transmission restricting mechanism 7 which does not transmit rotation of the ball screw nut 3 to the rotary inertial mass 4 when a value of relative displacement amount in an axial line direction between the ball screw 2 and the ball screw nut 3 is less than a first set value; and a second rotary transmission restricting mechanism 8 which does not transmit rotation of the ball screw nut 3 to the rotary inertial mass 4 when a value of relative acceleration in an axial line direction between the ball screw 2 and the ball screw nut 3 exceeds a second set value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
