To provide a control method of traveling operation of a self-traveling soil compaction device and a soil compaction device.SOLUTION: Provided is a control method of traveling operation of a self-traveling soil compaction device (1) using a control unit (10). The control unit sets respective traveling control signals on a traveling operation system of the soil compaction device (1). It is possible to provide operation on a user mode of the soil compaction device (1), and in the user mode, each traveling specification previously given by an input device (7) manually operable by a user is transmitted to the control unit (10), and transmitted to the travel actuation system of the soil compaction device (1) in the form of each traveling control signal from the control unit. The invention particularly relates to soil compaction devices which are particularly rocker plates or trench rollers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
