To provide an additive for cement which can constitute a cementitious composition having good waterproofness while being a powder of polymer fine particles.SOLUTION: An additive for cement of the invention contains powdery granular material of polymer fine particles. The polymer fine particles are polymer particles including a core layer and a shell layer located outside of the core layer. The polymer fine particles have a cross-sectional roundness of 0.85 or greater. Preferably, the core layer is formed from a crosslinked polymer containing at least one monomer selected from conjugated diene, aromatic vinyl compounds, (meth)acrylic acid esters, and organosiloxane as a constituent monomer. Preferably, the shell layer is formed from a copolymer containing an aromatic vinyl compound and a carboxyl group-containing monomer and/or hydroxyl group-containing monomer as a constituent monomer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
