To provide a road construction machine which is in the form of a road paver or a feeder vehicle for a road paver, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a road construction machine (1) which has at least one electricity consuming body (11, 11'), the road construction machine(1) having an energy supply system (16) which includes at least one electrical energy storage (17) present in the road construction machine (1) as an internal power source (18) for direct current supply to the electrical consuming body (11, 11') while being able to be charged with currents generated outside the road construction machine (1). Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of such an energy storage (17) for direct current supply to the electrical consuming body (11, 11') of the road construction machine (1).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
