FASTENING METHOD AND FASTENER FOR STEEL PIPES
To provide a method for fastening steel pipes together without welding flanges on ends and a suitable fastener for use in the method.SOLUTION: A joint tube 13 is inserted into an end of a lower steel pipe 11, and a first hole of the lower steel pipe 11 is aligned with a first joint hole 17a of the joint tube 13 to form a first fastening hole 18a, and the end of the lower steel pipe 11 and the joint tube 13 are fastened with a fastener 14 provided in the first fastening hole. Then, a non-inserted portion of the joint tube 13 into the lower steel pipe 11 is inserted into an end of an upper steel pipe 12, a second hole of the upper steel pipe 12 is aligned with a second joint hole of the joint tube 13 to form a second fastening hole, and the fastener 14 is installed in the second fastening hole to fasten the end of the upper steel pipe 12 and the joint tube 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
