WATER-ABSORBABLE BOARD AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
To provide a water-absorbable board on which processing such as cutting is performed and which can improve a yield, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A water-absorbable board manufacturing method for manufacturing a water-absorbable board 1 containing a foamed glass material, includes: a dough making step S1 of mixing powdered glass foaming material, silica sand, slaked lime, and pulp with water to form slurry-like dough M; a plate-shaped dough forming step S2 of forming a slurry-like dough M into a plate of a predetermined thickness; a first drying step S3 of heating the dough M having been formed in a plate shape to be dried until water content reaches 40% or less; a hardening step S5 of heating the dough M having been dried while pressurizing it above atmospheric pressure to harden the same until the water content reaches 40% or less; and a second drying step S6 of drying the hardened plate-shaped dough M until the water content is reduced to 15% or less while being heated at a higher temperature than in the first drying step S3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
