To provide a vehicle door opening device that can prohibit a door from opening while a moving object is approaching, but allow the door to open in an emergency.SOLUTION: A vehicle door opening device 20, including a door 13 that is opened electrically, an operator operation button 23 and a passenger operation button 24 that operate for opening the door 13, and a BSM 22 for detecting an approaching moving object, prohibits the door 13 from opening when an opening operation is made by manipulating the operator operation button 23 or the passenger operation button 24 while the BSM 22 detects that a moving object is approaching, and allows the door 13 to open when an emergency opening operation is made by manipulating the operator operation button 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
