To provide at least one of a sintered body of zirconia which has no coloration originating from ceria and exhibits high impact resistance, a starting material powder therefor, a calcined body, and a method for producing the sintered body.SOLUTION: A sintered body includes: zirconia containing a stabilizing element; and germanium oxide, wherein when the amount of the stabilizing element within the zirconia is denoted by Xmol% and the amount of germanium oxide is denoted by Ymol%, Y/X is 0.35 or more and X+Y is 4.0 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
