To effectively release heat from a motor and heat on a sun gear tooth surface to an outside.SOLUTION: An electric cylinder comprises: a motor which is a drive source; an output shaft rotating as the motor is driven; a sun gear coupled to the output shaft and rotating as the output shaft rotates; a cylindrical holder disposed adjacently to an axial end surface of the motor and having a fluid storage portion in which a magnetic fluid can be stored between itself and the outer circumference of the sun gear; a pair of pole pieces provided on an inner circumferential surface of the holder; and a magnet disposed between the pair of pole pieces and retaining the magnetic fluid in the fluid storage portion by an action of a magnetic field.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
