To provide a circular staircase having a tread surface shape that prevents a person from falling down several steps due to missteps or slippage on the center side of the circular staircase while securing the width of each tread.SOLUTION: A circular staircase 100 has a plurality of treads 10, 20, 30 horizontally arranged with a certain step, whose edges 11, 21, 31 extend outward from the center side of the circular staircase. Tread surfaces 1, 2, 3 of each of the treads 10, 20, 30 have a shape in which a region of a square S in a plan view is divided into a plurality of areas with the edges 11, 21, 31 as boundary lines between the tread surfaces 1, 2, 3, respectively. The minimum width L2 of each of the tread surfaces 1, 2, 3 of the treads 10, 20, 30 is equal to the length of one side of the square S. The edges 11, 31 of the treads 1, 3 extend outward from a point P2 inside the area of the square S as a starting point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
