DISPLACEMENT-DEPENDENT DAMPER
To provide a displacement-dependent damper which can be installed on a seismic isolation layer irrespective of the form of a seismic isolation bearing.SOLUTION: A displacement dependent damper includes: a lower shoe 2 which has a V-shaped recessed lower slide-contact face 23 on an upper face in an X-direction (a first direction), and which is fixed to an upper part of a lower structure 14 of a construction; an upper shoe 3 which has a V-shaped recessed upper slide-contact face 33 on a lower face in a Y-direction (a second direction) being orthogonal to the X-direction on a horizontal face, and which is fixed to a lower part of an upper structure 15 of the construction; a slider 4 having a lower slide-contact face which can slide with respect to the lower slide-contact face 23 in the X-direction and an upper slide-contact face 46 which can slide with respect to the upper slide-contact face in the second direction; and a compression spring 51 (an elastic member) which is disposed between the upper shoe 3 and the upper structure 15, and is elastically deformable in a vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
