To provide a technology excellent in absorption of impact energy due to falling rocks in a protective fence.SOLUTION: A protective fence comprises a plurality of support columns 10 provided on foundations G via an anchor 21, a net 30 stretched across wire ropes 31 and 33 bridged over each side of upper end parts and lower end parts of the plurality of support columns 10, a first brace material 25 that couples an upper end part of one terminal support column 13 of two support columns adjacent to each other out of the plurality of support columns 10 and a lower end part of the other terminal support column 14, a second brace material 27 that couples the lower end part of one terminal support column 13 and the upper end part of the other terminal support column 14, a hanging rope (support member) 29 which has one end coupled to the upper end part of at least one terminal support column 13 out of one terminal support column 13 and the other terminal support column 14 to which the first brace material 25 and the second brace material 27 are coupled, and has the other end fixed to the foundations G, and an upper chord member 23 that couples the upper end parts of the terminal support columns 13 and 14 that are coupled to each other by the first brace material 25 and the second brace material 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
