To prevent an intersection part between a transverse chimney part and a vertical chimney part from being damaged due to excessive stress when the vertical chimney part is made inclined due to an earthquake or the like, in a chimney for a building having the transverse chimney part.SOLUTION: A vertical chimney part 11 extending vertically and a transverse chimney part 13 intersect in a chimney 10 for a building. A displacement absorption part 20 that can be expanded, contracted, and deflected is provided at or near an intersection end part 13p of the transverse chimney part 13 with the vertical chimney part 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
