HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE PRODUCTION METHOD
To provide a honeycomb structure provided with an electrode layer excellent in the uniformity of a thickness.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure production method according to an embodiment in this invention has: a molding step of extrusion-molding a molding material containing a ceramic raw material to obtain a honeycomb molded body; and a firing step of firing a honeycomb dried body obtained by drying the honeycomb molded body to obtain a honeycomb structure. The molding step includes supporting an outer circumferential face along an extending direction of cells of the cylindrical honeycomb molded body obtained by the extrusion molding by a pedestal so as to be conveyed. The pedestal has: a body part having a groove part along the extending direction of the cells; and a contact part arranged at the groove part of the body part and having an arc-shaped curved face contacted with the lower half of the honeycomb molded body. The contact part is composed of a material having a hardness of 74 N or less, and a difference between a diameter of the arc-shaped contact part and a diameter of a mold in the extrusion molding is 0.6 mm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5A
