To provide an electric lock system and an unlocking method capable of unlocking when a portable terminal is present in an area near an electric lock.SOLUTION: This electric lock system comprises: a portable terminal that stores a one-time key accessory to received mail; an electric lock provided in a door; a terminal detection unit that detects presence of the portable terminal in an area near the electric lock; and an authentication unit that authenticates an unlocking request from the portable terminal using the one-time key and outputs unlocking permission of the electric lock.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
