To provide a modular system for weed control for railway vehicles.SOLUTION: A modular system according to the present invention comprises a control module 102 with a control unit 104 and a control panel 112. The control unit is designed to generate a first set of control signals for controlling a plurality of valves and a plurality of mixers of a herbicide mixing module 108 for mixing the herbicide mixture, and a second set of control signals for controlling a plurality of valves of a nozzle assembly 110. The herbicide mixing module has a plurality of containers for containing different herbicides. The nozzle assembly has a first set of nozzles for spraying the herbicides, and the control module, the herbicide mixing module, and the nozzle assembly are each individually reversibly fixable to a support element 118.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
