To provide a hydrant and a sterilization method for a hydrant, and a water server that can suppress the frequency of replacing batteries, UV lamps, etc., does not require measures to dissipate heat from the UV lamps, can effectively sterilize the inside and/or outside of the water outlet, which is particularly difficult to clean, and can provide safe and sanitary water supply.SOLUTION: A hydrant has an ultraviolet irradiation unit 4 that is disposed inside or outside a water outlet 32 or both, and irradiates ultraviolet rays to at least either the inside or the outside of the water outlet 32. The ultraviolet irradiation unit 4 performs ultraviolet irradiation when the water discharge parameter at the water outlet 32 reaches a specified value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
