CUBIC CRYSTAL BORON NITRIDE SINTERED BODY
To provide a cubic crystal boron nitride sintered body which can extend tool life by having excellent abrasion resistance and defect resistance.SOLUTION: Provided is a cubic crystal boron nitride sintered body comprising cubic crystal boron nitride and a binder phase. The content ratio of the cubic crystal boron nitride relative to the gross volume of the sintered body is 85 volume% to 95 volume% and the content ratio of the binder phase relative to the gross volume of the sintered body is 5 volume% to 15 volume%. The binder phase includes Co3W3C, W2Co21B6, and an Al compound. When X-ray diffraction peak strength of a (111) plane of cubic crystal boron nitride is denoted by IA, X-ray diffraction peak strength of a (400)plane of Co3W3C by IB, X-ray diffraction peak strength of a (420)plane of W2Co21B6 by IC, and X-ray diffraction peak strength of a (001) plane of WC by ID, IB/IA is 0.02 to 0.15, IC/IA is 0.02 to 1.00, and IC≥ID.SELECTED DRAWING: None
