To provide an earth retaining device suitable for a shallow ditch excavation work, which can be easily installed without using a heavy machine or the like, can be installed even in a narrow excavated ditch, and has high strength to withstand earth pressure.SOLUTION: An earth retaining device for a shallow excavated ditch comprises: a pair of plates constructed over an excavated ditch; a frame member movable by sliding on the plates; and a pair of support plates which are on the opposing plate members and each of which is constructed between the opposing frame members.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
