To improve durability of a fixing part of an opening and closing device.SOLUTION: An opening and closing device 10 to open and close an opening a is fixed to wooden columnar base members 21 disposed on lateral sides of the opening a in an opening and closing device installation structure. The opening and closing device 10 has an aspect surface fitting part 12b disposed on an aspect surface side of the columnar base member 21 and a depth surface fitting part 12c disposed on a depth surface side of the columnar base member 21, and is fixed to the columnar base member 21 by both a first fixing tool 31 inserted into the aspect surface fitting part 12b and a second fixing tool 32 inserted into the depth surface fitting part 12c.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
