To provide a mechanical parking system capable of improving safety, a safety confirmation method, and a safety confirmation program.SOLUTION: A mechanical parking system includes: a get-on/get-off room for performing at least one of the incoming and outgoing of a vehicle; an entrance/exit door placed at an entrance/exit of the get-on/get-off room; a monitoring area setting unit 80 that sets a monitoring area during movement to check whether the vehicle is unattended while moving; and an object detection sensor 31 for detecting objects in the monitoring area. The monitoring area during movement is set to a range excluding the indoor parking area where the vehicle stops and the vehicle's travel route.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
