To provide a protection device of a hydraulic cylinder capable of maintaining lubrication of a sliding portion between a support member and a guard member for a long period of time.SOLUTION: A protection device 26 of a hydraulic cylinder includes a support member 40 and a guard member 42 movably supported by the support member 40. The support member 40 has a hollow guide rail 44 that is in slidable contact with the guard member 42. The guide rail 44 is formed with: a grease nipple 46 for filling an inside of the guide rail 44 with grease; and a grease supply port 48 for supplying the grease filled inside the guide rail 44 to a sliding portion between the guide rail 44 of the support member 40 and the guard member 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
