To prompt an operator to charge an electricity storage device when the remaining amount of electricity stored therein decreases.SOLUTION: A system 1 for controlling a work machine equipped with a work device and driven by electric power from a power storage device 2 comprises: an operation device for operating the work device; and a controller 9. The controller 9 receives an operation command from the operation device 5, detects a remaining charge of the storage device 2, and when the detected remaining charge of the storage device 2 is determined to be a predetermined threshold or below, outputs a control signal so as to slow down rise in an operating speed of the work device in response to the operation command from the operation device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
