To provide a rainwater storage device and a water purification unit capable of easily removing blacking and clogging of a mesh member.SOLUTION: A water purification unit 19 constituting a rainwater storage device comprises: a cylindrical body 51; a cylindrical mesh member 52, which is housed in the body 51 and through which rainwater can flow in through one opening 52a and out through the other opening 52b; an annular chamber 53 formed between an inner circumference of the body 51 and an outer circumference of the mesh member 52, which allows the rainwater to pass through the mesh member 52 from the inner circumference side to the outer circumference side; a branch piping 54, which is branched from the body 51 and has an inner space connected to the annular chamber 53; and a chemical chamber 57 for containing trichloroisocyanuric acid tablets 57b, which are provided within the branch piping 54 to allow rainwater to pass through and add chlorine to passing rainwater.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
