To allow an operator to recognize that it is highly necessary to charge a battery.SOLUTION: Provided is a system for controlling an electric work machine including a battery, and an electric motor driven by power from the battery. The system includes: a controller; and a start operation switch for outputting a command signal to start the electric motor. The controller detects residual accumulated electricity of the battery, and makes a notification to prompt an operator to charge the battery when the detected residual accumulated electricity is equal to or less a set value. When receiving a confirmation operation signal for the notification from the operator, the controller outputs a control signal to start the electric motor on the basis of a command signal from the start operation switch.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
