To provide at least any one of novel zirconia powder for laser sintering by which sintering of zirconia by laser sintering is made possible without a need of interposing alumina and a compound other than zirconium compound, particularly, novel zirconia powder for laser sintering by which a dense sintered body of zirconia is obtained by irradiating laser, and a method for producing a sintered body by laser sintering by using the powder.SOLUTION: Zirconia powder for laser sintering contains oxygen-deficient zirconia and zirconia different from the oxygen-deficient zirconia, and furthermore, lightness value L* in L*a*b* color system is 94 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
