To reduce weight of slab lifting device.SOLUTION: A slab lifting device 100 includes a lifting mechanism 50 that can lift slabs 2, an upper holding body 41 that extends in the front-rear direction and holds the lifting mechanism 50, multiple pillars 60A-60D that are attached to the upper holding body 41, traveling mechanisms 21, 26 that are provided below the pillars 60A-60D, and pillar displacement mechanisms 70A-70D that displace the positions of the pillars 60A-60D in the horizontal direction between a first position close to the upper holding body 41 and a second position away from the upper holding body 41, wherein the pillar displacement mechanisms 70A - 70D each include a horizontal connection member 75 that connects the pillars 60A - 60D and the upper holding body 41 in the horizontal direction, and a hinge joint that supports the horizontal connection member 75 rotatably in a horizontal plane with the connection portion between the upper holding body 41 and the horizontal connection member 75 as a fulcrum, and wherein the positions of the pillars 60A to 60D can be displaced between a first position and a second position as the horizontal connection member 75 is rotated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
