BRIDGE VIBRATION SUPPRESSING SYSTEM AND BRIDGE VIBRATION SUPPRESSING METHOD
To reliably suppress vibration regardless of the lengths of parallel wire ropes supporting bridge girders.SOLUTION: A bridge vibration suppressing system has a main tower, a bridge girder, and a plurality of wire ropes that are arranged in parallel between a main tower and a bridge girder and that supports the bridge girder by the main tower, the bridge vibration suppressing system further has: a wind direction sensor and speed sensor that are provided in the main tower or bridge girder and measure wind direction and wind speed; vibration sensors that are provided on each of the wire ropes and measure the vibration displacement of the wire rope; a plurality of plasma actuators that are provided on the surface of each of the wire ropes; a drive portion that drives the plasma actuators, and a control portion, the control portion identifies a first wire rope from the wire ropes whose displacement exceeds a predetermined threshold value based on the measurement results of the vibration sensor, identifies a second wire rope that is provided upwind of the first wire rope based on the measurement results of the wind direction and speed sensor, and drives at least one of the plasma actuators provided in the second wire rope by the drive portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
