MANUFACTURING METHOD OF RECYCLED AGGREGATE IMPROVED WATER ABSORPTION BY COATING ALKALI-ACTIVATED BINDER
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a recycled aggregate with enhanced water absorption by coating of an alkali-activated binder. With respect to construction waste with high water absorption due to attachment of mortar or paste, the present provides a method for manufacturing a recycled aggregate which meets the water absorption of less than 3% by coating the surface of the recycled aggregate, which has been pre-crushed into a suitable particle size through a process of crushing construction waste, with a binder which is made of fine powder of blast furnace slag and fly ash activated by an alkaline activator. The manufacturing method can reduce the number of processes to crush construction waste and effectively lower water absorption. Moreover, the recycled aggregate obtained by the manufacturing method has durability due to low water absorption, thereby being useful for concrete.
