A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The present invention relates to a block for constructing a retaining wall, capable of making two frame members have a shape of a vertical pillar by making upper and lower blocks have the same shape by forming the frame members into a symmetric shape; separating the frames into two blocks when external force is generated; and flexibly adapting to stress from differential settlement or earth pressure or weight of the blocks even when constructing a high retaining wall by making matched earth surfaces of the upper and lower blocks. A plurality of blocks (1) are connected and constructed to form a retaining wall of a lower row, and the blocks (1) are connected to an upper part of a connection part of each of the blocks of the lower row to form a retaining wall of an upper row. When the blocks (1) of the lower row and the blocks (1) of the upper row are placed in a zigzag form, first and second frame members (2)(3) have a convex front part protruding from a front connecting member (4) placed in the center, and therefore, the first and second frame members (2)(3) have a shape of a vertical pillar (5). The blocks (1) have a hole (8) in the first and second frame members (2)(3), and front and rear connecting members (4)(4a), placed between the first and second frame members (2)(3), have thinner thickness than the thickness of the first and second frame members (2)(3). An insertion groove (9), accepting a guide pin (P), is formed on an upper surface of the first and second frame members (2)(3) so that the vertical pillar is smoothly constructed as the guide pin (P) is inserted into the hole (8) of the blocks (1) of the upper row to make a guide for an assembly position of the blocks (1) of the upper row.
