A hood latch for protecting a passenger is disclosed. According to the present invention, the hood latch for protecting a passenger comprises: a base having a moving groove unit; a latch gear restraining a striker accessed through the moving groove unit; a first elastic member supplying an elastic force rotating the latch gear in a clockwise direction; a foul installed to be rotated in the base and where a locking protrusion and the support protrusion protrude toward the latch gear to restrain rotation of the latch gear with movement engaged with the latch gear; and a second elastic member supplying the elastic force rotating the foul in the clockwise direction.
