The present invention relates to a road cutting machine having a continuously variable transmission to cut a joint groove on a road surface by a circular cutting blade when moving along a concrete pavement road. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the road cutting machine having a continuously variable transmission comprises: a frame having a handle for changing a direction, a handle for height adjustment, and a wheel for moving; an engine which is loaded on the frame, and has an engine pulley; a cutting blade rotatably mounted on the frame, and rotated by a V-belt installed on the engine pulley and a blade pulley installed on a rotary shaft of the cutting blade to perform an orbital motion; and a wheel for height adjustment mounted on the frame to be lifted to adjust a height of the cutting blade when vertically moved by the handle for height adjustment. In order to variably adjust an effective diameter of the engine pulley, the road cutting machine further comprises: an elastic member including a fixed cone pulley rotatably mounted on the engine, a movable cone pulley movably coupled to a boss of the fixed cone pulley, and a movable pulley mounted on the boss to be moved along the boss; and an adjustment pulley which is rotatably mounted on the frame to press the V-belt, and changes a position of the movable cone pulley with respect to the fixed cone pulley by pressing the V-belt performing an orbital motion when rotating to variably adjust the effective diameter of the engine pulley.
