Friction damper with multiple slip loads
Disclosed is a multi-slip load friction damper. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multi-slip load friction damper includes: a pair of cover plates; first and second pad plates placed vertically between the cover plates to be moved independently from each other; a pair of friction pads installed on the front and rear sides of the first pad plate to come into frictional contact with the cover plates; a pair of second friction pads installed on the front and rear sides of the second pad plate to come into frictional contact with the cover plates; a first bolt set making the first friction pads come into pressure contact between the cover plates; and a second bolt set making the second friction pads come into pressure contact between the cover plates. The first and second bolt sets have different coupling forces. Therefore, the multi-slip load friction damper is capable of handling an earthquake load in a wider range.
