According to the technical idea of the present disclosure, an electronic device that a child lock function is automatically and adaptively set according to a pattern the electronic device is used comprises: an input/output unit having an input means for selecting functions of the electronic device and an output means for representing a state of the electronic device; a time measuring unit generating time information for time that a first function is performed by measuring time that the first function of the electronic device is performed; and a control unit setting main usage time based on the time information and automatically activating a child lock function for ignoring a selection by an operation of the input means during break time except for the main usage time or blocking the first function.
