The present invention relates to an excavator that can prevent damage to buried structures. According to one embodiment of the present invention, disclosed is a portable excavator including: a vertical frame (10) with a handle installed at the top; a horizontal frame (12) coupled to the lower end of the vertical frame; one or more stands (18) and one or more wheels (17) connected to the horizontal frame; a sliding part (30) capable of sliding in an up and down direction along the vertical frame; a driving motor (40) attached to the sliding part; and an excavation screw (50) detachably fastened to the driving motor in a vertical direction.
