FIELD: biotechnology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of carbon-carbon composite materials (CCCM) and to the manufacture of articles therefrom, in particular CCCM based on length discrete reinforcing carbon fibers and a coke-pyrocarbon matrix. CCCM comprises a reinforcing filler made of needle-punched material, consisting of fragmented in thickness, up to filaments, length discrete carbon fibers, wherein the pyrocarbon in the coke-pyrocarbon matrix is evenly distributed throughout the material volume. Method for the production of the CCCM comprises cutting the carbon fibers along the length, their fragmentation in thickness to the formation of filaments, formation of a mat and needle-punching thereof, impregnation with a coke-forming binder, forming a carbon-fiber billet, carbonization and saturation thereof by pyrolytic carbon from the gas phase by the thermogradient method.EFFECT: invention allows producing the CCCM and articles therefrom, including thick-walled articles, having a high uniformity of properties by volume, and an increased strength characteristics without a significant increase in manufacturing costs.2 cl, 2 ex, 1 tbl
