FIELD: production of composite materials.SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a composite gypsum board comprising a core plate and a concentrated layer of actual thickness (e.g., at least about 0.02 inches (about 0.05 cm)). Concentrated layer contains higher weight fraction of reinforcing additive than plate core. Thickness of plate core is more than thickness of concentrated layer and forms larger part of plate volume. Concentrated layer has higher density (for example, at least approximately 1.1 times more) than that of plate core.
