The retrofitted garage can include a wall between the interior region and the outdoor area. The wall can include an opening having a width within a range from 2 meters to 7 meters. A path permitting a user of the real estate unit to move between the interior region and the outdoor area can extend through the opening and through the fenestrated barrier.
