The apparatus includes a housing that defines a space that is configured to dehydrate and dry food waste, the housing having a drain pipe that is configured to discharge water included in the food waste and an exhaust duct that is configured to exhaust air that dried the food waste. The apparatus further includes a dryer that is configured to dry the food waste by supplying dry air to the housing. The apparatus further includes an exhaust unit connected to the drain pipe and the exhaust duct, the exhaust unit being configured to prevent the air exhausted from the exhaust duct from flowing back into the drain pipe.
