Provided is a novel ceramic material that has CTR characteristics, that has acceptably low resistivity at room temperature, that exhibits a steep change in resistance as a result of an increase in temperature, and that makes it possible to achieve excellent reliability. The composition of the ceramic material is represented by formula (AA), namely, Cax'NaxMny'MyO12 (in the formula, M represents at least one of Ni and Cu, and x', x, y', and y satisfy one of formulas (a), (b), and (c) when x' + x = X and y' + y = Y).
