MODULAR SYSTEM FOR CONSTRUCTING A TIMBER-FRAME BUILDING
The modular system for constructing a timber-framed building includes a plurality of timber-framed modules which each have a rectangular parallelepipedal cross-section and are composed of a series of vertical posts which are continuous up the entire height thereof and are interconnected in pairs by at least two horizontal joists . At least two modules are assembled horizontally, thereby defining a wall between those modules. At least two timber-framed modules are assembled vertically, so at least one wall post is provided between vertical posts. The wall posts of horizontally adjacent modules are offset with respect to one another and overlap, at least in part. The posts of an upper module rest on the posts of a lower module, directly or indirectly by a layer of non-compressible material. The invention further relates to a timber-framed building having at least one modular system of this type.
