A floor panel (2) of a floor covering (1), which forms a walkable surface (1.1) of the floor covering (1) by laterally placing several floor panels (2) on top of each other, has the dimensions length and width, and a magnetic layer (4) is arranged on an underside (2.2) of the floor panel (2). The magnetic layer (4) extends over at least 90% of each of the two dimensions length and width of the underside (2.2) of the floor panel (2) at least partially and covers at least a total area of 25% of the underside (2.2), preferably at least 50%, and particularly preferably at least 85%.A floor covering (1) is formed by a floor panel (2) and a magnetic support (5).
