A water faucet having an adjustable cartridge for the infinitely variable mixing of a cold-water flow and a hot-water flow to form a mixed-water flow, having a first adjustability, and having an operating lever, which is connected to the first adjustability via a transmission mechanism such that the mixing ratio of cold water and hot water can be set by a temperature setting motion of the operating lever, the temperature setting motion being a rotary motion about an axis of rotation, the transmission mechanism having a stop, which limits a movement of the first adjustability in the direction of more hot water at a threshold setting, the stop being designed such that the operating lever is brought into an unlocking position by an unlocking motion deviating from the temperature setting motion, such that further movement in the direction of more hot water is made possible beyond the threshold setting.
