WALL-FLOW FILTER COMPRISING CATALYTIC WASHCOAT
A catalysed honeycomb wall-flow filter for treating exhaust gas comprising particulate matter emitted from an internal combustion engine, which filter comprising a honeycomb substrate having a first end and a second end and comprising an array of interconnecting porous walls defining an array of longitudinally extending first channels and second channels, wherein the first channels are bordered on their sides by the second channels and have a larger hydraulic diameter than the second channels, wherein the first channels are end-plugged at a first end of the honeycomb substrate and the second channels are end-plugged at a second end of the honeycomb substrate, wherein channel wall surfaces of the first channels comprise an on-wall-type catalytic washcoat. The invention also relates to an exhaust system comprising the catalysed filter and to methods of making it.
La présente invention concerne un filtre à écoulement de paroi en nid d'abeilles catalysé pour le traitement de gaz d'échappement comprenant de la matière particulaire émise depuis un moteur à combustion interne, ledit filtre comprenant un substrat en nid d'abeilles présentant une première extrémité et une seconde extrémité et comportant un réseau de parois poreuses interconnectées définissant un réseau de premiers canaux et de seconds canaux s'étendant dans le sens longitudinal, les premiers canaux étant bordés sur leurs côtés par les seconds canaux et présentant un diamètre hydraulique supérieur à celui des seconds canaux; les premiers canaux comprennent un bouchon d'extrémité à une première extrémité du substrat en nid d'abeilles et les seconds canaux comprennent un bouchon d'extrémité à une seconde extrémité du substrat en nid d'abeilles, des surfaces de paroi des canaux des premier canaux comportant un encollage catalytique du type fixé sur la paroi. L'invention concerne également un système d'échappement comportant le filtre catalysé et des procédés pour sa fabrication.
