A vehicle electronic key system portable device comprises: a case (2); a communication unit (3) that is housed in the case (2) and transmits identification information to a vehicular on-board device installed in a vehicle; a mechanical emergency key (7, 8) having a key blade (7) that is removably housed in a housing section (2g) provided in the case (2), and a key bow (8) that can be attached and detached from the case (2) and that prevents the key blade (7) from coming out of the housing section (2g) while the key bow is attached to the case (2); and a key ring (9) that is for suspending and holding the vehicle electronic key system portable device, that can be attached and detached from the case (2), and that, while attached to the case (2), prevents the key bow (8) when attached to the case (2) from being detached from the case (2).
