The present invention is a valuables storage device that comprises: a facility-side approval data reading means that is installed in a housing equipped with a storage box, or installed at a different location, and that reads facility-side approval data with which it is possible to identify a user on the facility side; a biometric authentication reading means that is installed in the housing equipped with the storage box; and a computer that processes and stores the biometric authentication data read by the biometric authentication reading means installed in the housing equipped with the storage box and the facility-side approval data read by the facility-side approval data reading means, and also, on the basis of the biometric authentication data and the facility-side approval data, emits an unlock signal for a door of the storage box that is locked with an electric lock and unlocks the door, stores valuables inside the unlocked storage box and locks the door, and when the valuables stored in the locked storage box are to be removed therefrom, reads again biometric authentication data with the biometric authentication reading means, and only if there is a match with the biometric authentication data from when the valuables were put in, emits a signal that can unlock the electric lock to the electric lock.
