Das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren zum Herstellen eines vorgespannten Betonwerkstücks, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Vorspannung durch eine Wärmebehandlung erzeugt wird, wobei der Beton und die Bewehrung dafür derart ausgewählt werden, dass bei einer Abkühlung des Betonwerkstücks aus einer erhöhten Temperatur der Wärmeausdehnungskoeffizient des Betons kleiner ist als derjenige der Bewehrung, und dass während der Abkühlung der Beton und die Bewehrung genügend stark aneinander haften, wenn der Beton während der Abkühlung wenigstens soweit hydratisiert ist, um die Bewehrung auf Grund der unterschiedlichen Wärmedehnungskoeffizienten dehnen zu können, und dass der Beton mit der Bewehrung derart auf die erhöhte Temperatur gebracht und während der Abkühlung wenigstens soweit hydratisiert wird, dass er nach der Abkühlung durch die Bewehrung vorgespannt ist.
