ARTIFICIAL TURF WITH NON-GRANULAR DAMPING MATERIAL
The invention relates to an artificial turf com- prising a backing of open net structure, a plurality of artificial grass fibers and a plurality of artificial base fibers, wherein said grass and base fibers are attached to the backing and extend upwardly from the backing when in use. In the artificial turf according to the present invention the base and grass fibers are reinforced by non-granular infill material comprising elastomer applied as a coating on each fiber and covering part of the length of the grass fibers and at least part of the length of the base fibers, wherein the reinforced parts of the base and grass fibers form a resilient and water-permeable layer which is attached to the backing and over which the grass fibers extend. The layer is able to maintain the grass fibers in an approximately vertical orientation in use without requiring the provision of a granular infill. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing an artificial turf.
La présente invention concerne un gazon artificiel comprenant un support de structure de réseau ouverte, une pluralité de fibres d'herbe artificielle et une pluralité de fibres de base artificielle, ladite herbe et les fibres de base étant fixées au support et s'étendant vers le haut à partir du support lors de l'utilisation. Dans le gazon artificiel, selon la présente invention, la base et les fibres d'herbe sont renforcées par un matériau de remplissage non granulaire comprenant un élastomère appliqué sous la forme d'un revêtement sur chaque fibre et couvrant une partie de la longueur des fibres d'herbe et au moins une partie de la longueur des fibres de base, les parties renforcées des fibres de base et d'herbe formant une couche élastique et perméable à l'eau qui est fixée au support et au-dessus de quoi les fibres d'herbe s'étendent. La couche est apte à maintenir les fibres d'herbe dans une orientation approximativement verticale lors de l'utilisation, sans nécessiter la mise à disposition d'un remplissage granulaire. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé permettant de fabriquer un gazon artificiel.
