A window assembly (10) suitable for installation into listed, heritage or period buildings is provided which comprises a first pane of glass (30), a second pane of glass (28) spaced apart from the first pane of glass (30) so as to define a cavity (36) therebetween, and a window frame (12) within which the first and second panes of glass (30, 28) are mounted. To substantially match the appearance of a single glazed window and thereby meet local regulations, the second pane of glass (28) has a lower reflectance than the first pane of glass (30). A method of preparing a window assembly (10) for installation into a listed or heritage building is also provided.
L'invention concerne un ensemble fenêtre (10) qui est approprié pour l'installation dans des bâtiments d'époque, classés ou patrimoniaux, et qui comprend un premier panneau de verre (30), un second panneau de verre (28) espacé du premier panneau de verre (30) de façon à délimiter une cavité (36) entre eux, et un cadre de fenêtre (12) dans lequel les premier et second panneaux de verre (30, 28) sont montés. Pour sensiblement correspondre à l'aspect d'une fenêtre à vitrage simple et, de ce fait, satisfaire à des réglementations locales, le second panneau de verre (28) possède un facteur de réflexion inférieur à celui du premier panneau de verre (30). L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d'un ensemble fenêtre (10) pour l'installation dans un bâtiment classé ou patrimonial.
