Die Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Blähgraphit zur Verminderung der Entflamm- barkeit und/oder Brennbarkeit, insbesondere Verwendung als Flammschutzmittel und/oder Brandschutzmittel,für Materialien und/oder Produkte, die aus Holzfasern und/oder Cellulosefasern und/oder aus Holzpulvern und/oder Cellulosepulvern und/oder Holzgranulaten und/oder Cellulosegranulaten und/oder Polyolefin-basierten Materialien bestehen oder diese umfassen. Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung Materialien und/oder Produkte, die aus Holzfasern und/oder Cellulosefasern und/oder aus Holzpulvern und/oder Cellulosepulvern und/oder Holzgranulaten und/oder Cellulosegranulaten und/oder Polyolefin-basierten Materialien bestehen oder diese umfassen, wobei in diese Materialien und/oder Produkte zur Verminderung der Entflammbarkeit und/oder Brenn- barkeit, insbesondere als Flammschutzmittel und/oder Brandschutzmittel,Blähgraphit eingearbeitet ist. Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein derartiges Mittel, insbesondere Flamm- schutzmittel und/oder Brandschutzmittel, wobei Blähgraphit allein oder in Kombination mit einem Borsäure/Borax/Alkalisalz-Gemisch zum Einsatz kommt. Besonders bevorzugte Einsatzgebiet sind insbesondere Bindemittel und/oder Leime und/oder Polyolefin-basierte Stoffe enthaltende Materialien und/oder Produkte und/oder Vorprodukte, vorzugsweise für die Dämmung (Wand, Boden, Decke) und/oder für Bodenbeläge und Wandbeläge, Die Erfindung weist sich durch überraschende Vorteile bei Brandschutztests mit vertikaler Kanten-Beflammung aus.
